16 states declared No Go Areas In Nigeria

The US state dept has just recently on the 8 January 2014 updated its "NO-GO AREA" list of Nigerian states to 16. The list was created to ward of it's citizens from unsafe parts of Nigeria where they must avoid going if possible.

They are Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Yobe,Zamfara .


"The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to Nigeria and recommends that U.S. citizens avoid all travel to Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states because of the May 14, 2013 state of emergency proclamation for those three states by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The security situation in the country remains fluid and unpredictable. The U.S. Department of State strongly urges U.S. citizens in Nigeria to consider their own personal security and to keep personal safety in the forefront of their planning. This Travel Warning replaces the Travel Warning for Nigeria dated June 3, 2013.

Meet The World's Largest Family

                 The wives and me: Mr Ziona Chana poses with his 39 wives at their home in Baktawng

Ziona Chana is the head of the world's biggest family and says he is 'blessed' to have his 39 wives.

Ziona Chana also has 94 children, 14-daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren.

They live in a 100-room, four storey house set amidst the hills of Baktwang village in the Indian state of Mizoram, where the wives sleep in giant communal dormitories.

Mr Chana said: "Today I feel like God's special child. He's given me so many people to look after.

I consider myself a lucky man to be the husband of 39 women and head of the world's largest family."

The family is organised with almost military discipline, with the oldest wife Zathiangi organising her fellow partners to perform household chores such as cleaning, washing and preparing meals.

    With 100 rooms, the Ziona mansion is the biggest concrete structure in the hilly village of Baktawng in Mizoram, India

One evening meal can see them pluck 30 chickens, peel 132lb of potatoes and boil up to 220lb of rice.

Coincidentally, Mr Chana is also head of a sect that allows members to take as many wives as he wants.

He even married ten women in one year, when he was at his most prolific, and enjoys his own double bed while his wives have to make do with communal dormitories.

He keeps the youngest women near to his bedroom with the older members of the family sleeping further away - and there is a rotation system for who visits Mr Chana's bedroom.

Rinkmini, one of Mr Chana's wives who is 35 years old, said: "We stay around him as he is the most important person in the house."

He is the most handsome person in the village. She says Mr Chana noticed her on a morning walk in the village 18 years ago and wrote her a letter asking for her hand in marriage.

Another of his wives, Huntharnghanki, said the entire family gets along well.

The family system is reportedly based on mutual love and respect.

And Mr Chana, whose religious sect has 4,00 members, says he has not stopped looking for new wives.

"To expand my sect, I am willing to go even to the U.S. to marry," he said.

One of his sons insisted that Mr Chana, whose grandfather also had many wives, marries the poor women from the village so he can look after them.

Rev. (Mrs) Folake Achudume was recently confirmed dead by doctors but resurrected before her burial and this is what the wife of the General Overseer and Founder of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, Rev. (Mrs) Folake Achudume told her congregation on Sunday.

“What I experienced was like being a drama piece. I saw myself coming out of my body, and going into a white cloud. I didn’t know where I was going, but I was asked to look down, only to see my husband, children been consoled, as my burial was been planned. I saw people crying.”

“Later, I stretched my hand and I was taken to a glorious place, where I saw people in white garment welcoming me, telling me to come in. I joined them, but a big hand stretched out, with a voice saying the place is not for me”

“I later found myself in another place, more glorious and beautiful, I was not allowed in again, but I was taken to a third place, where I was not allowed again. Then a voice came telling me to look down, and told me I should return to where I was coming from, but I was struggling to join the group. Then I heard a thunderous voice and it was at that point my eyes opened.”

“I stand to tell you that God has power over death. The consultants had confirmed that I bled to death after the operation. If you understand what I went through you will realize that life is vanity. By that experience everything in life to me has lost value. It was not a joke, I appreciate God, because God made me to understand the mystery of life,”

Dont Insult the Judiciary; we are the best -Justice Bello

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta and Justice Adamu Bello both condemned attempts to tarnish the image of the judiciary, saying the Nigerian judiciary remains the best in the world.

Justice Auta, who spoke during the valedictory session in honour of Justice Bello, who retired from the court on December 31 last year, decried the rate of petitions against judges.

“It has become common place for lawyers and even litigants to write petitions against judicial officers when they lose their cases or even mere suspicion that they may lose their case before the judge,” he said.

On his part, Justice Bello, who lauded the reforms initiated by the National Judicial Council (NJC) led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhtar, cautioned critics not to undermine the dignity of the judiciary.

“We may have our ups and downs and even harboured some bad eggs but that does not give any one the licence to lampoon the whole institution of the judiciary like is being done in this country,” he said.

January 14 is a public Holiday to celebrate Eid-el Maulud

This is to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration nationwide.

In the statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Fatima Bamidele, on Thursday in Abuja, called on all Muslims and Nigerians in general to support President Goodluck Jonathan “in his sustained effort to build a peaceful, united and virile nation”.

The Ministry also urged all Nigerians to pray for peace, unity and growth of the nation.

Latest Regarding Univesity of Jos Internal Strike

Various issues have evolved between Unijos Asuu chapter and Management, several Meetings have been held with a view to resolving the issues

The strike Embarked by Unijos Asuu Chapter is as a result of the failure of Management to follow a particular template given to them as to who and who should be paid with regard to earned Allowances, which the Management did not follow

A committee has been set up by the management with a view to solve the issue, they were giving 3 days and their resolution will determine the next line of action

The S.U.G led by Comr. Izang Magaji Ajik has told students to keep calm  but be ready to fight back in case they are pushed to the wall by the lecturers and management, and has encouraged students to resume.

However, lectures have resumed in some part of the university including- Sociology,Political Science,Medicine, and History, also some part of faculty of law

The senator Representing Off Campus constituency Sen. Arome Abu has however told students to send the name of their Landlord/caretaker, his phone number and the Place of Residence to his phone number

All this is coming barely a month after Asuu National Chapter called off its 6 months old Strike

Again!!! Gov. Oshiomole Gives another Hawker 1 million Naira

According to report, the governor was passing by with his entourage and when he was spotted by some kids hawking, they got scared and took to their heels but this little girl who was hawking plantain chips was bold enough not to run with the others.

She stayed back and greeted the governor.

Governor Oshiomhole who was impressed with the little girl's boldness reportedly wrote a cheque of one million naira and gave to her.

She was said to have leaped for joy, flinging her plantain chips in the process while also thanking the governor for his kind gesture.

An evangelist who tried replicating Jesus’ miracle of walking on water has reportedly drowned off the western coast of Africa.
 

Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle, and he attempted it from a beach in Gabon’s capital of Libreville
 

He told churchgoers he’d had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus,’ an eyewitness told the Glasgow Daily Record.
 

‘He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat.
 

So on the d-day they all gathered to watch the miracle...
He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back.’

Univeristy of Jos (Unijos) to go on Internal Strike

Reports reached us today that University of Jos lecturers are planning to go on an internal strike over certain issues between them, and the school management

This is coming barely two weeks after the Federal Government and Asuu ended the strike that lasted for 6 months, which had paralyzed academic activities in Nigerian Universities Nationwide

We at YOB got the information and we were able to reach the SUG President Comr. Ajik Magaji Izang, he said:

That yes the lecturers and management have issues relating to ‘earned allowance’ ,and that management have refused to pay lecturers the earned allowances as they were supposed to,  and this has formed the crux of their internal strike.

At the time of filing this, a meeting as already been called for Monday 6^th January 2014 between the SUG and various stake holders and departments heads.

One then wonders whether students should resume, the president said students should not be discouraged as they should resume while the pending issues will be resolved as soon as possible, he also said students should not keep quiet while lecturers are toiling with their future.

One of the students Comr. Kenny Ilori also said that enough is enough and students should not sit back and allow lecturers destroy their future
