After the 13 hours meeting with the president, Asuu with her delegation sent messages to every branch to meet and discuss and come out with a resolution before Wednesday
after which there will be a meeting of the NEC to discuss the result of the various congress Nation wide,

The NEC is to meet on Wednesday to discuss the final resolution and pass to the Federal Government what their decision is on the Strike.

Fg has offered 1.1 trillion Naira to be paid over a period of time, now it is left to Asuu to accept or reject.

At today  meeting University of Benin voted for the strike to continue saying it was empty promises, also University of Jos did same. Barr David N JANGKAM Said this-

“We started the meeting by briefing our members on issues resolved with the federal government in their last meeting with the president of ASUU.

“But in responding to the briefing, our members observed that the main issues that led to the strike were not discussed as part of the meeting in Aso Rock.

“As such my members said President Jonathan is taking them for a ride by trying to divert attention from the core subjects of the strike”

According to Dr. Jankam, “I will now convey the resolve of our branch to our national president in our NEC meeting scheduled for this week. If the majority of the chapter voted for call off, it will be called off, but if majority of chapters voted for continuation, so be it” said Dr. Jankam.

The only true and authentic way to know whether the strike has been called off is to wait till Wednesday after the meeting of the NEC of Asuu after which they will either report to the president or make a public statement concerning their resolution

Until then we await their resolution, other chapters will be meeting tomorrow,
