MUST READ (OMG) Open letter to V.C of University of Jos

I stumbled upon this letter and decided to share. Read below
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, UNIVERSITY OF JOS, PROFESSOR HEYWARD BABALE MAFUYAI.

     Warm tidings in the name of Aluta and from the cross of Victoria.

We wish to register our  displeasure over the publications making round especially in the media particularly published on Vanguard Newspaper of Tuesday August 12 at page 31  For the purpose of clarity the advertorial notice stated "that only applicant within  the catchment area will be eligible to apply for the pre-science  programme" (Vanguard Page 31 Aug 12)
     For the purpose of clarity, the catchment proposed to benefit from this policy include;
1.Kwara 2. Niger 3. Kogi4. Benue.5. Plateau
   Dear Prof, the injurious effect of this policy is to prevent eligible Nigerians from been schooled in tertiary institutions situated in states of their choice.
    Dear Prof, this proposed policy; discriminatory as it is,is a patent violation of  Section 42 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended), provisions of which we have hereinunder supplied:
42(a) A citizen of Nigeria of a particular community, ethnic group, place of origin, sex, religion or political opinion shall not by reason that only that he is such a person-
 (a) be subjected either expressly by or in the practical application of any law in force in Nigeria or administrative action of the Government to disabilities or restrictions to which citizens of Nigeria or other communities, ethnic groups, places of origin,sex,religion or political opinion are not made subject..."
  Dear Prof, with due respect, permit me to remind you that the University of Jos is a creation of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by virtue of Chapter II and Section 4. This policy which betrays the common morale of any true nationalist's sense of reasoning is also a manifest and systematic discrimination of Nigerians, and a calculated attempt to deprive loathed ethnic groups from receiving education.
    Dear Prof, If the democracy we acclaim and the ONE  NIGERIA we orate is to stand the test of time, it is for the purpose of unity which elder statesman Gen Yakubu Gowon fought for and what we believe to be in the best interest of the Nigerian state that we urge the governing council of this beloved institution to reconsider it's position on this controversial policy, so as to give this controversial topic of tribalism,sentimentalism and discrimination in Nigeria a decorous burial.
     We are not relenting in our determination and drive to ensure that every average Nigerian irrespective of their state of origin, age, tribe, religion and circumstances of birth, are treated fairly and not discriminated. And that merit and credibility is not sacrificed on the altar of  premordial and parochial sentiments ,nepotism and favouritism.

Hmmmmm if this is true. The V.C should be asked some question Sha
