How we escaped-school girl

How We Jumped Out Of Boko Haram Truck - Pupils In this interview with the Punch Newspaper, two of the girls who were abducted from their school narrate how they escaped from one of the trucks that was being used to transport them by the Boko Haram insurgents. What is your name? Sawok: My name is Amina Sawok. Walse: My name is Thabita Walse. Can you describe the attack on your school? Sawok: We were in the hostel. One of the men dressed in military camouflage asked us where our dining hall was. From our hostels, they took us to the dining hall and from there, we were moved into the waiting vehicles and they headed towards Damboa town. The incident happened around 11pm. Walse: It is a long story. They came to our school and deceived us into believing they were soldiers. They were dressed in military uniform and made us believe they were about rescuing us only for us to later find out that they were insurgents. When we discovered, it was already too late and there was little we could do. At what point did you know they were not real soldiers but insurgents? Sawok: They were shouting and rude. That was when it became clear to us that they were insurgents, then they started shooting and set our school on fire. They even shot the security men guarding the school. How did you escape? Sawok: I jumped out of the vehicle that looked like a truck. Walse: Our vehicle developed a problem and they were forced to stop. I took the opportunity with some girls to run into a dark bush. What gave you the courage to jump out of the vehicle? Sawok: I have heard a lot about Boko Haram, the bad things they do and how they have killed many people in the state. I was afraid and I became desperate. I felt getting to their camp could be dangerous for me and it would be better if I escaped. That gave me the courage to jump out. I believed that I would only get injured since it was dark and they may not know how to look for me in the bush. Did all the girls that escaped plan it? Sawok: No, I believe the same thing was running through our minds. Immediately one of us jumped out, the rest of us just started following her. Do you have any injury? Sawok: No, I am very fine. How do you feel about the others that were not able to escape? Sawok: I would have loved all of us to escape. I can’t celebrate my escape because some of my friends and classmates are still in the hands of the insurgents and I don’t know what they are facing. It is my prayer that they should be freed. Walse: I have no problem, I am okay and very strong physically. The only problem I have is that some of my friends are still held hostage by terrorists.

school girls abducted have been seen

The schoolgirls abducted by the Boko Haram reportedly had been seen yesterday April 28, in South Borno, in the Gwoza-Bama axis. The 200 missing girls have been hustled around in about seven buses. The information about abducted GGSS (Governmental Girls' Secondary School) female students was provided by active citizens in Maiduguri. And a non-governmental organization (NGO) fighting for civil right, led by Dr Peregrino Brimah, disclosed this information to the press. The organization urgently call on the security agencies to go in pursuit and asks Goodluck Jonathan administration to approve immediately the formal request of the thousands of Civilian-JTF members and several thousand ready-volunteer youth around the nation for the permission to bear arms as civilian army patriots to seek, capture and eradicate Boko Haram terrorists and release all abductees and forced conscripts. On April 27, security sources stated that the military has already identified the various camps in which the girls are being held, but is being cautious about executing a full onslaught against their captors, in order to avoid collateral damage.

linda Ikeji is 'untrained'

IT WAS A PUBLICITY STUNT! P-Square’s Publicist Speaks On How Linda Ikeji Misled Nigerians

So it was all a publicity stunt after all. While we were all worried and praying against rumours of infighting and break up in the P Square camp, some other people were laughing at he gullibility of Nigerians. Speaking in this chat with Icon Weekly magazine, P-Square’s Publicist, Bayo Adetu opens up on what really transpired..
Read excerpts from the interview below...

Greetings, Bayo, we heard that the Okoye brotherS have finally reconciled, can you give us an insight on what really happened?

After a long laugh… My brother, I’m telling you this as a friend, there was no fight at all. The whole thing started after Jude tweeted some days back and bloggers feasted on it and gave it several interpretations which never existed, and that was how we got here.

Are you saying there wasn’t a fight at all, how then did Peter and Paul keep releasing comments through their Facebook accounts?

My guy, I can authoritatively tell you that neither of the P-Square brothers, nor even Jude operate their Facebook accounts anymore. Whatever Facebook posted was from an impersonator, pretending to be anyone of them. P-Sqaure is active on twitter, not on facebook, so you see, the whole thing was founded on lies.

If what you are saying is true, why did they all tweet a reconciliatory tweet this morning indicating that they have mended fences?

There’s one thing you should know, P-Square are not politicians, neither are they businessmen to be worried about what one useless blogger or the other has to say about them.
In this game, bad publicity is good publicity. When we read those funny posts, we decided to play along with the general public and what they were meant to believe.
Yesterday, Thursday, April 24, 2014 was Jude Okoye’s birthday and he also used the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend while we laughed at the stupidity of some Nigerian bloggers.
We later decided to further play into their hands by reaching a consensus to tweet what they have termed the ‘reconciliation tweet’.
However as a journalist, I am pained that trained journalists allow themselves to be remoted by Linda Ikeji, a mere blogger without any professional training to stall them from investigating serious news material like this. These days, immediately Linda posts anything on her blog, journalists just go there and copy and paste the story without any checks and balances, it is outrightly wrong, I’m really upset about this.
She called me after posting the story and I just decided to ignore her calls, because I didn’t think we had anything more to say when the milk has been spilt.
I have taken my time to explain to you this way because, you are a friend and did not join the bandwagon.
As for those bloggers out there, I allowed them to write whatever they like; after all, they are consuming their Internet data, not mine.
