How to Rock a Backless Dress

How to Rock a BACKLESS dress perfectly,Without showing off ur BRA (that can be so annoying and embarrassing, walk around and see ladies Bra all popping out, it's suppose 2 be hidden that's why it's called INNER WEAR sweetheart)

Have you ever walked into a store and you saw a very beautiful dress. In the process of checking it out, you turn it around only to see that the back is open. Then, you're like, bummer, and you have to return it because you think you can't put it on? OR probably you have it in your closet and you're waiting for a miraculous day that you'll finally be able to put it on? Well, I hope that day comes soon!

Say bye-bye to all that now, Enjoy!

Before I tell you what to wear with it, here's what NOT to wear: Plastic/'Invisible' straps! PLEASE, NO!! I'm not even sure why those things were invented because, they're VERY visible so, BIG NO to those! Moving on..

1. DUCT TAPE: It's kind of like a DIY method. It's the cheapest and probably the most painful. LOL! You get either 2 or 4 small different pieces of  duct tape. If you're using 2, you just put them across your bust or if you're using 4, you put 2 on each bust in the form of an 'X' and Viola! you're done!

2. Second is a backless, strapless bra! It holds you at the sides with adhesive wings so you should be fine with this. Only problem with this is after so much wear it tends to become loose and less firm on you and can cause you to be uncomfortable.

Must read for the ladies! Foundation Apllication

Hi lovelies...Trust you had an awesome weekend?I sure did. Anyway back to the matter for today.

How to wear foundation in our sooooo HOT WEATHER

The one question I always get asked by my customers is how to keep foundation looking fresh all day long despite our unforgiving weather.
Sometimes I see some ladies looking like clowns who just escaped from a circus, just because of using the wrong foundation or applying it wrongly.

Here are few tips that have worked for me in applying foundation (so you don't go about looking like a clown *winks*)

Understanding your skin type: This is very vital in getting a flawless looking face.
You must know whether you have an oily skin, dry skin or combination skin. This would go a long way in knowing what foundation to choose

Moisturize: Even if you have oily skin, you should always take good care of your skin underneath your makeup as this would prevent wrinkles and premature aging in the long run

Must HAVE in a GUYs closet...Ladies help Your Man

Must HAVE in a GUYs closet...
Hi Handsome! This is specially for the guys, ( and the ladies who love the guys) *winks* guess what? there's something fresh on the blog for you today, brewed to perfection, with just the right blend of fashion inspiration and style...hehe!
So guys, take note! There are some things that just have to be present in your closet, these things form the basis of men's fashion. So are you ready?! let the drum roll ...

1. Dress shirt This is a very important piece of clothing! Its very versatile, you can dress it up with a nice tie and pants or dress it down with jeans and a great pair of casual shoes, more so if its a plain material, or better still white! White shirts give you the opportunity to play around with different colors of trousers and shoes and the res...it only makes sense that you have at least one dress shirt!

2. Suit/Jacket: It is highly ESSENTIAL that you own at least one! You never know when you'll need it...Suits will come in handy when you have a formal event to attend; wedding, dinner party etc...a jacket on the other hand, is very very versatile! Like you can wear it on jeans, chinos, you can even substitute it for a suit jacket and wear it to a formal event once you style it right, its basically an all purpose jacket..hehe. Get one for yourself, or better still have one custom made, trust me on this one!

3. Chinos/Khakis: One word comes to mind when i see a guy wearing well fitted chinos trousers... "yummy"... I absolutely love the look it gives; casual but not too laid back, it is a MUST HAVE for you guys, if you don't already own one, please go get one...and thank me later!

4. Good shoes: Need i say more? You all know the importance of having a good pair of shoes, just in case you didn't know, your shoes are the first thing a lady notices about you, yep! that's right, your shoes speak volumes! So invest in a nice pair that will last and that can be worn with majority of your wardrobe, this is not to say you can't have multiple shoes in multiple colors sha Oh, but there should be that ONE shoe, you catch my drift abi?

5. Belt: Just like your shoes, your belt says alot about your personality as well...I don't know about other people but for me, a guys belt is one of the first things i notice (after his shoes tho), its kinda like the focal point of an outfit because in most cases, that's what divides the top half from the bottom half, it cannot go un-noticed! So try as much as possible to get an attractive one, and replace as frequently as possible cos i know belts tend to wear out with use.

6. Nice pair of jeans: I don't even have to talk much on this subject...it is universal knowledge that one MUST own a good pair of jeans, Simple!

7. Easy wear/Sandals/Slippers (I don't mean bathroom slippers oh, lol) I know not every guy will agree with this, but really, it is very essential that you own a pair, slipper or sandals, whichever you feel more comfortable in. Its a great stylish choice for the beach or a picnic or maybe just a casual stroll...your feet won't tell you, but i will! they need a breath of fresh air sometimes! So consider getting yourself a pair.

8. T-shirt: You know those really nice t-shirts with the amazing graphics on the front? yeah! You should get one!, I don't know what it is about them tho, but they always look good! They give this sophisticated edge to an otherwise casual look...i love them and i compliment anybody i see wearing one although I'm a sucker for nice tees, but still, its only fashionably reasonable that you have several of these in your possession... :D Plain T-shirts are really hot as well, they give a simple and clean casual look, its also a must have!
Hope this list was very helpful, you can also drop ur comments incase there are any other item you think should be in the list...Xoxo

Must READ!!! DRESSING TIPS By Sarah Okolo

Ladies are natural trendsetters when it comes to fashion and we all love to look gooooood .but most people think they have to spend tons of thousands of naira to look good. Well that believe is so wrong, it’s just a matter of combining the right clothes meant for your figure and also what you are comfortable in. Let me give you some tips on how to look good without spending a lot.

1. A Little Black Dress. (LBD) LBD is a worthy wardrobe investment, they never go out of vogue. Every gal needs to have a LBD because it can fit perfectly into any occasion.

2. A Jacket over a Top and Pants Note however to choose bright colors. Not too bright but the type of color that will get you noticed. Your pants/trousers should always be fitted i.e. fitted to your body, fitted but not tight. Then wear a nice jacket over it. The length of the jacket depends on your size and torso . Accessories as desired but don’t go over the top. Pair up with the right shoes and bag/purse depending on the outing and you are good to go.

3.A Top/blouse/shirt and a skirt Pairing a top/blouse over a skirt is always a very good combination. Remember that fitting is the key to making the clothes look great on You. And alos, Long skirts are back in fashion, Long skirts look better usually if they are high wasted

5. Brooches Never underestimate a brooch and the wonders it can do for your outfit. Use brooches that compliment the look/appearance your going for. A brooch can change an outfit from completely boring to stylish and Elegant. Your brooch can also be placed on your hats or Barrett not just your tops or dresses

6. A dress You can never go wrong with a dress. It works every time and helps cover does Bulges
that you want to hide. You can either sew the dress or buy it, which ever you prefer, especially these days. Since the Ankara Revolution a lot of people prefer to sew their dresses, to make creative designs. The best type of dress are the ones that end slightly above the knee, the dress shows a little bit of leg but not too much leg. A little tip to know if you should wear heels or flats with your dresses is this, place your arms on both sides of your body, if u dress is longer than the tip of your fingers you should wear heels, but if your dress is the same length as your fingers or shorter than them, wear flats

Interview with Abuja and Jos based Fashion Designer and Makeup artiste- Gladys Royalty Emmanuel! CEO Royalty Fashion World

Tell us your name, school department and level?

I am Gladys Rebecca Emmanuel, University of Jos, 400lvl law

Tell me about your school?

University of Jos is fun and challenging, you read and know you have read and they impact a lot and you

Why law?

Lol I always had a passion for law and based on court proceedings plus, I love to read a lot and argue logically, I also love to help people since some people don’t have people to stand for them.

Tell me about your family?

3 elder sisters, a younger sister and one brother, grew up with my mum, based on the job of my dad

How did you get into fashion?

Back then ages 3-4 mum used to have people that sew for her because she couldn’t do it due to her type of her job. I was drawn to them and will sit and learn. I picked interest; I was drawn to patterns and colors. I could correct them on people. Mum had a big influence

Why the name Royalty?

Gladys means a Ruler I went to a secondary school Royal college and my best color is purple so, all this factors brought out the name Royalty.

Since u started designing what has been your parents view being that you’re a law student?

At first they were skeptical, and I tried it for a semester but I found out that I could manage it so, they are okay with it

How is it mixing law and fashion?

I feel they apply there is a life outside the court room, I feel I can merge the courtroom and fashion

So you’re bringing fashion into the legal profession?

A little... Though law is a disciplined profession, we can spice it up a little

Tell us how has it been so far?

Fun, interesting and challenging based on the fact that peeps are not specific and you have to think a lot for them. But I love challenges

What are the challenges u faced at first when you started?

Most people did not want to commit their clothes into a young girls hand; I tried one person then a page on face book I gained their confidence though it took a while

What your view of fashion in Nigeria?

Its rich, sophisticated but some people make it complicated, Nigeria has plenty textiles, 70% of Nigerians dress well the others feel its jus normal others don’t just care

Why should I be concerned about fashion?

The way you are dressed is the way you will be addressed, every color has a story, and your color has to be with your personality, your personality has a lot to do with your dressing.

When going for an interview, what will be the best color to wear?

Tone down the color not pink, preferably black don’t wear white suit, don’t wear something to tight or revealing, they must trust your dressing to hear u speak, don’t mix stripped and check material lastly, don’t wear bow ties.

How did get you contract the sewing or do you do it yourself?

I have tailors in Abuja and Jos and each of them have things they do for me.

So basically what you do is the beautiful design?

Yes and get to the clients

There is this cliché about tailors disappointing how many of your clients have been disappointed thus far?

For now none, I stay with them till they are done, so they don’t alter the design and they come out correctly.

Do you think more funding should be giving to fashion designers and who should give them?

Federal government and private bodies should have a little portion for them, because all youths are interested in fashion.

What is your advice to upcoming fashion designers?

Be your creative, be yourself, be original don’t alter your design because there are lots of pressure due to funds. Also don’t downplay your creativity as it will find you out one day

What is the financial implication of starting a fashion outfit such as your?

It doesn’t take so much, you can get material of 1000naira upward it’s really not the material but the person that wears it.

So how much does it cost for royalty to do a design and produce a dress?

It differs from dress to dress, design to design, embroidery cost more than ordinary, bridal designs also cost more due to the technicalities.

Is it only dress designs that royalty fashion World engages in?

We also do make up photo shoot make up, music videos and runways make up

What is your staff strength like?

Basically 4 that are under my employment

What is the long term plan for royalty fashion world?

We see it from now growing into huge fashion empire, engaging in modeling and dress making institute also teaching make up.

What your opinion on those who shave their eyebrows and draw it back

It’s not shaving completely, its defining it, the hairs grows , the eye brow filling is to give it a distinct shape, shaving everything is weird though!

What is the best outfit for a dinner for both sexes?

Guy tux jacket with the trouser a bow tie, black or oxblood, lady skin and body structure determine preferably long but if short it can flared or pencil just depends on your body structure

In the fashion world who do you look up to?

This Nigerian designer Lisa (jewel) also outside Nigeria Louis vuitton

When you graduate am curious will it be law or fashion?

(Chuckles)Will practice law for a while quit, and go into fashion

What is your take on the ongoing Asuu strike?

I feel federal government and Asuu should settle, and they not extended our stay, education is key youths may go into social vices

I expected you not to complain being the fact that your busy making money?

Lol amidst the whole work, it still rings in my heart that I haven’t graduated and I need to.
