Asuu Strike to end in 1 week- Asuu Chairman

The academic staff union of university is set to call off its 6 months old strike in the next 1 week after the Union and the federal Government signed an agreement

The agreement was signed by the parties at the Ministry of Education which had the supervising Minister of Education Nyesom Wike present as well as Asuu chairman Nasir Fagge and his executives

After the Marathon meeting of 13 hours between Asuu and the Federal Government, most persons believed the strike was over but Asuu claimed that there were some other issues that were left to be agreed on by the parties

The Federal Government thus in response paid 200bn into the Central bank to show its commitment however, to Asuu this gesture was not enough as they wanted the agreement to be signed by the parties

The agreement has however finally been signed by the parties meaning that Asuu should call of the strike, however Asuu chairman made it known that they have to communicate with their members before the strike will be called off

In an Interview with pressmen he made it clear that within one week the strike will be called off and normalcy can return to our Academic sector. He however made it known that they do not hope to continue with the strike but if the Federal Government relents as they did in 2009 they will be forced to pick off with the strike

We all hope Asuu keeps to their word
